This is a blog for anyone interested or participating in my classes here at Jane Long Middle School. The classes I teach are called TAKS/Math, using a computer based program designed by Neufeld Systems to enhance students math abilities. I also encourage students that they can achieve great things through a positive outlook on themselves and their abilities with a "can do" attitude.

I am a wife, mother and teacher. I value my religion and family as the most important things in my life. I have a husband, Abdul Khaliq, of 33 years and two wonderful children, Suhail and Yasmeen. I am a Muslim, by choice and value the true teachings and peaceful practices of Islam. I teach because I love the interaction with young people. I try to impress on them good values and appreciation for their lives and belief they can accomplish any dream they have. I like to recognize the positive side of a person and I am sometimes hopelessly positive. I believe everyone has good in their nature, though some resist putting it forward. One day I will spend my time at home taking care of grandchildren and family, but for now I try to do both jobs of teaching and homemaking. God has blessed me both with a satisfying career and a fantastic family.
